Après une aussi longue absence (aucun lien avec le film d'Henri Colpi où une femme croit reconnaître son mari déporté une quinzaine d'années auparavant, je parlais simplement de mes vacances), il me faut trier mon courrier.
Bien sûr quand on parle vacances, on évoque l'enfance, la mer, les jeux, la lecture et tout naturellement viennent à l'esprit la Comtesse de Ségur et son livre Les Vacances édité dans la bibliothèque rose où elle y raconte notamment le naufrage de Sophie :

mais ceci n'est pas mon propos... car d'autres ne sont pas en vacances et souhaiteraient en pouvoir en profiter.
Je retrouve deux plis envoyés par JEF, l'un en date du 25 juillet du PSP ARAGO en escale à Fort de France. L'ARAGO continue son périple vers la Polynésie et Tahiti. Bientôt le canal de Panama et l'Océan Pacifique.

L'OTAN et la Libye - Opération Unified Protector
Depuis le 23 mars 2011, des navires de guerre et des avions de l’OTAN patrouillent les approches des eaux territoriales de la Libye dans le cadre de l’opération Unified Protector. Leur mission consiste à réduire le flux d’armes, de matériels connexes et de mercenaires vers la Libye, conformément à la Résolution 1973 du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU. Mission
NATO took control of all military operations for Libya under United Nations Security Council Resolutions
1970 & 1973 on 31 March 2011. The aim of Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR is to protect civilians and
civilian-populated areas under attack or threat of attack.
The mission consists of three elements: an arms embargo, a no-fly-zone and actions to protect civilians
from attack or the threat of attack.
Over the past 24 hours, NATO has conducted the following activities associated with Operation UNIFIED
PROTECTOR:
Air Operations
Since the beginning of the NATO operation (31 March 2011, 06.00GMT) a total of 17,329 sorties, including
6,542 strike sorties*, have been conducted.

Strike sorties conducted 31 JULY: 49
*Strike sorties are intended to identify and engage appropriate targets, but do not necessarily deploy munitions each time.

Arms Embargo Activities
A total of 17 ships under NATO command are actively patrolling the Central Mediterranean.
7 Vessels were hailed on 31 JULY to determine destination and cargo. 1 boarding (no denials) was
conducted.
A total of 2025 vessels have been hailed, 200 boardings and 9 denials have been conducted since the
beginning of arms embargo operations.
